Eric Bompard is a luxury cashmere brand founded in 1983 by Éric Bompard, a former IT executive. He discovered the beauty and exceptional softness of cashmere on a trip to Asia, and became determined to bring it back to France. Through an exclusive agreement with Wang Linxiang, CEO of Erdos, Bombard was able to secure the raw material he needed and opened his first store in 1984.

Over the ensuing years, Eric Bompard expanded its distribution network with stores in France and abroad, as well as sales areas within Parisian department stores. In 2004, Bompard signed a joint venture with Erdos for distribution in the Far East. In 2007, the company opened a flagship on the Avenue des Champs-Élysées.
